4 Month Checkup

I've been meaning to update on how Emma's four month checkup went, but it has been so crazy! Her appointment was about two weeks ago. We met with a different doctor this time because Emma's current pediatrician is out on maternity leave. She just had a baby girl about two months ago. Emma is still growing like a weed! She is in the 90th percentile for height at 25.75 inches long and is in the 78th percentile for weight at 15 pounds, 4 ounces.

Emma is moving right along in her motor skills. She rolls over and holds her head up really well. She loves tummy time. I have to watch her really closely because she will wiggle all around the place. She has a way to go before crawling, but it amazes me how much she can move around at such a young age!

She is doing really well at school during the day. She is on a pretty good schedule... after she is dropped off, she plays for about 45 minutes, then takes a bottle. After eating, she takes a small nap before playing some more. She gets hungry at about 11:30, which is when I come to nurse her on my lunch break. Afterwards, she goes down usually for a long nap - about 2 hours. When she wakes up they go on a walk to the park and then when they get back she takes another bottle before she gets picked up.

I have also found that her attention span when nursing can be very short. She will stop nursing if she hears something going on or if I try to hold a conversation with someone else. I have to keep her surroundings quiet if I am on a time crunch.
