Life with Emma

Wow. I can't believe she's home!! Emma is a great baby. I am actually surprised at how well she's doing. The past few nights she hasn't needed me to feed her but twice overnight, so I am actually getting decent sleep for a new mommy. She breastfeeds really well and is very alert for a newborn.

We went to the pediatrician this morning to have a check up and make sure she is gaining weight. She was down to 6 pounds, 10 ounces when we were discharged on Thursday. Today she was back up to 7 pounds. When we were there they also had to draw some blood... and Emma didn't even flinch. She just sat there all relaxed like it was no big deal. The nurse couldn't believe it... she had never seen a baby NOT cry when doing this. Pretty amazing. She is a very relaxed baby & we couldn't be happier!!
